"Say Something Revisted": Andy Leek
Producer: Sir George Martin
'Say Something' is the first debut album Sir George Martin has produced by any new artist since The Beatles first album, 'Please Please Me'.
It contains 11 original songs, written arranged and performed by Andy Leek. It was recorded in Air Studios in Oxford Street with such notable and legendary musicians as Steve Howe of 'Yes', Clem Clemson, Luis Jardim on perucssion, Alan Murphy of 'Level 42' on guitar, Phil Todd on saxophone, Peter Vettese of 'Go West' on keyboards, Stuart Elliott of the Kate Bush Band on drums and Mo Foster (Phil Collins, Bob Dylan) on bass. The album also features the London Community Gospel Choir on backing vocals.
Early in 1989 Andy Leek sent George Martin a tape of seven songs, all of which finally appeared on 'Say Something'. The album was released by Atlantic Records in the spring of 1990 to massive critical acclaim.
